He has treated more than 5 lakh patients, played a pivotal role in the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), and transformed respiratory education at KGMU, RIMS Safai, and Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute.
Beyond the clinic, he is an author, researcher, and mentor to thousands of doctors, with 325+ scientific papers and numerous books redefining tuberculosis and pulmonary care.
Early Life & Journey
Born on February 17, 1950, in Basti District (U.P.), Dr. Prasad’s journey began with humble roots. His discipline and passion for learning led him to achieve his M.D. in Tuberculosis and later to join King George’s Medical University (KGMU) as faculty.
Through dedication and innovation, he rose to become Head of Department and later Director of Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI), Delhi. His contributions shaped medical research, education, and public health policy.
